TVA Files with TDEC for "Project Viper"

project viper.png

TVA has filed with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) to build "Project Viper," which appears to be TVA's chosen name for its "secure office complex" in Georgetown. (TDEC Project #SOP-18017)

The purpose of the permit is:

* To provide initial information on TVA's plans for its self-contained wastewater plant, disposal process, environmental issues and costs. NOTE: There will be no public sewer system as a result of this development in Georgetown.

* To seek public input and questions on potential impact, environmental & water stream concerns from the public.

The community deserves a public hearing on the first phase of this development, and that will ONLY happen if citizens file official comments with TDEC.

The deadline for comments is Oct. 23, 2018.

You may direct your questions and request for a public hearing at water.permits@tn.gov and copy the TDEC permit writer: allen.rather@tn.gov. Please reference the permit number SOP-18017 on all communications.
