TVA SUES GEORGETOWN CITIZENS DEMANDING IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THEIR PRIVATE PROPERTY

TVA filed suit on Tuesday, Nov. 20, against four private citizens in order to take their private property for Project Viper in Georgetown. Property owners found out in the media. TVA has done nothing it said it would do since over the past 90 days. Below is a statement from Greg Vital, one of the property owners who has tried to work with TVA without success. http://bit.ly/2zrTcDX

“It’s amazing that TVA is planning a $300 million, once-in-a-lifetime project that disrupts downtown Chattanooga, changes the face of a rural community, involves destroying farmland and building a self-contained sewer plant, and yet there has been zero public vetting of Project Viper," said Greg Vital.

“I am disappointed but not surprised. I am dismayed at the disrespect TVA continues to show for private citizens and saddened at the arrogance of TVA’s approach to using government’s power of eminent domain to condemn and take private property. There’s a right and wrong way to deal with private property rights.

“They dropped this bomb on Georgetown 90 days ago for a project TVA knew about for years. They never had any intent of talking with the community. They steamrolled us."
